The Miami-Dade Police Department is making the following recommendations to residents for their safety.

  • Citizens are urged to use caution and park in well-lit areas.
  • When shopping, do not carry large sums of money or display expensive jewelry.
  • Keep valuables out of sight or in the trunk.
  • Do not leave purses and other valuables on front seats of vehicles or in plain sight.
  • Always lock your vehicle.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the police.
  • If you are involved in a traffic crash, call the police immediately and remain inside of your locked vehicle until police or first responders arrive.

Anyone with any information regarding crimes that have occurred is encouraged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 (TIPS). Non-emergency calls at 305-476-5423. For emergencies call 911.
