Volunteer for The Moors committees

By Dave Graveline, The Moors Master Association President

Get involved in your community today

Calling all Moors residents! We are actively seeking you to volunteer for your community! We have openings for our sub-association Grievance Committees, as well as—ultimately, after that experience—as Board members within our community.

Make a real impact in The Moors

With 1,600+ homes, assistance from homeowners is crucial to the success of maintaining our communal areas and serving as a liaison between the boards and committees.

While we strongly encourage everyone to “do the right thing,” board and committee memberships are strictly for individuals who are over the age of 18, are registered property owners, and actively live within the community.

Helping out with what may seem like a small task can make a real difference in the lives of fellow residents and enhance the overall aesthetic of our community.

A small commitment that creates change

Real change happens when you strive to help others by volunteering your time and skills for the betterment of the community. Grievance Committees and sub-association Boards typically meet only once every month. Some meet only every other month for about 15–30 minutes. So, it won’t take much of your time; however, your input will make a huge difference.

Volunteers are often the real glue that holds a community together, fostering a strong connection to The Moors and making it a better place for all of us.

Grow into a leadership role

Many residents, typically after serving a year or two on a committee, are often invited to join their sub-association Board if they are interested, as openings occur.

Homeowners within each sub-association may submit an association volunteer interest application form for consideration as part of the grievance committee within their corresponding sub-community.

Understand your roles and responsibilities

The committee’s role is to act in accordance with the committee charter, develop policies for consideration by the board, perform duties within the context of the governing documents, solicit input from members, and provide regular reports to the Manager and board regarding activity or progress.

Conclusion

Volunteering is a meaningful way to stay connected, make your voice heard, and contribute to the continued success of The Moors community. Whether you’re looking to get involved for the first time or take the next step toward board participation, your time and input truly matter. Join your neighbors in making a positive impact—because a stronger community starts with all of us.
