In addition to being The Moors Master Association President, I am also the Chairman of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Citizen Advisory Committee for our NW District. The Moors is located in the Northwest District of the MDSO and is the largest homeowners association. As such, all of our Moors residents are invited to attend and even join us as members.
Join the Citizen Advisory Committee
The CAC welcomes all area residents who want to show support for our local law enforcement. We also discuss community concerns and work together to solve local issues—everything from improper parking, dumping trash, and speeding on your street to streetlight outages, public works, dogs running loose, and many more community matters—even potholes!
We also present our “Deputy of the Month” at each meeting, which we keep to no longer than an hour and a half—usually about one hour, depending on the number of issues presented. In addition, we typically have a very informative guest speaker, always with fascinating topics.
Meet CAC members at our Halloween event
We have staff from our local County Commissioner’s offices, the State Attorney’s Office, the Department of Regulatory & Economic Resources, Park Rangers, Command Staff of the Sheriff’s Office, and Deputies from the NW District NRU (Neighborhood Resource Unit) all attending each of our meetings to help residents. Many of these NRU Deputies will be joining us at our annual Moors Halloween event on Saturday, October 25, from 5 – 9 PM at The Moors Club Center. Please join us there!
Partnering with Sheriff Rosie’s office has proven to be highly effective. These brief meetings and the information shared truly make a difference!

CAC, or Citizen Advisory Committee, meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month promptly at 6:30 PM. We also have snacks for you!
