Urgent action needed: Addressing traffic congestion at the north gate

Persistent traffic issues impacting residents

Have you experienced difficulties entering or exiting The Moors due to traffic congestion at the north gate?

Northbound traffic on 67th Avenue repeatedly breaks the law by blocking our intersection, making it challenging for residents to navigate in and out of the community.

I encourage all of our residents to contact our local County Commissioner’s Office, the Miami-Dade Traffic Department, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Their contact information is listed below.

While the situation worsens when the high school lets out, traffic congestion persists throughout the day. Recently, I had to wait through three light changes because no one could get through. Many others have faced similar issues, which is unacceptable.

Addressing traffic congestion at the north gate

Despite some assistance from the NW District Miami-Dade Police in enforcing traffic laws, we need more help. We are requesting additional “DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION” signs on traffic light poles and other standing signs. Additionally, we need the phrase “DO NOT BLOCK” painted on the street and in the intersection to increase visibility and compliance.
