Solar coming soon

With this new benefit, we can also save Moors homeowners money with a special bulk savings arrangement on a rooftop solar subscriptionif you are interested. No obligation and no pressure!

Solar power now available at The Moors

The Moors Master Association Board of Directors is pleased to announce that in an effort to reduce community expenses, it has signed an agreement with Terra Energy to install solar panels on the community’s common buildings. The equipment, installation and electricity that the panels and system will generate will all be for free! No cost to our community!

Some of our residents—like myself—already have solar on their homes.

The idea is to introduce more residents to Solar power and offer all Moors homeowners the ability to obtain a free estimate and a reduced “bulk” rate—if they are interested. And if so, with every 10 homes signing for a rooftop solar subscription—including all sub associations—Terra Energy will then provide another Moors Master Association building with another $0 cost Solar system.

“We are committed to saving money as a community and negotiating the most favorable arrangements with community vendors, This new agreement will allow us—and also all of our residents—to save money on our electric bills.”

My own personal experience with Solar

I’ve lived in The Moors for over 32 years. Three years ago, I spent several months investigating and getting presentations from seven solar companies. Six of them had basically the same proposals: Lots of money upfront, 20 to 30 years to pay it off, I would own and must maintain the panels and all the equipment.

Terra Energy required no money down, a much smaller monthly payment, a subscription service whereby THEY own and maintain the panels and equipment, a 3% increase in 3 years or I can have them removed. I certainly plan to renew. They handled everything!

I went from an average electric bill to FPL of over $400 a month, (I keep the AC very low 24/7).  I now pay FPL only the minimum $25 fee (+ tax) each month! My panels produce enough power that FPL actually owes me and therefore I don’t pay—even at night—to use any of their power. And compared to the $400+ per month to FPL, I now pay only $147 per month to Terra Energy!

How this agreement will benefit our community

  • The Moors pays $6,000 a month to FPL! That means that we pay that as part of our monthly maintenance fees! Converting to Solar means we will all save.
  • The agreement that the Master Board made with Terra Energy is that with every 10 Moors homeowners that subscribe with The Moors special pricing, another Moors Master Association common building (Salon Room, gym, maintenance office, guard houses, tennis courts) will receive a FREE solar system.
  • They will also heat our pool and have Solar power the pool pump house!
  • They are starting with a $0 cost for 300 months (25 years) by installing a Solar system to completely power our Moors office building.

We are committed to saving money as a community and negotiating the most favorable arrangements with community vendors, This new agreement will allow us—and also all of our residents—to save money on our electric bills.
