A year of wins, improvements, and savings

2024 was a year of persistence and progress for The Moors Master Association. After years of battling with our insurance company following hurricane damage to the community, we finally succeeded in replacing the roofs of the Club Center and Administration Building. This major milestone ensures durability and safety for these essential facilities.

Another exciting update is the installation of Terra solar panels at the administration building and Salon Room. This sustainable addition aligns with our commitment to energy efficiency and helps save the community money by significantly reducing our monthly FPL bills. Plus, the Salon Room will reopen soon—just in time for your upcoming celebrations! Scheduled for December, the Salon Room door upgrades will improve accessibility and add a touch of style.

Our sports enthusiasts will also be thrilled to know that one of our tennis courts was converted into two pickleball courts. This exciting addition provides residents with even more opportunities for recreation and fitness.

Meanwhile, we’re eagerly awaiting final approval from the Health Department for the pool operating permit. Despite delays, primarily from the county, we’re confident the pool will be ready for use by Christmas, bringing holiday cheer to our community.

Additionally, The Moors community has enjoyed a series of vibrant events this year, including the well-attended Fourth of July fireworks at the Club Center, the successful Halloween Trick-or-Treat & Food Truck event, and the highly anticipated Food Trucks with Santa event this month, which we hope all residents will attend and enjoy.

Projects on the horizon for 2025

As we step into 2025, several major projects are on our agenda to enhance The Moors:

  • Tot-Lot playground renovations: After evaluating multiple proposals and bids, we’re finalizing permits to begin these exciting upgrades.
  • Mediterranean Blvd. roadwork: This isn’t just a seal-coating job; we’re grinding down the old pavement and replacing it with brand-new asphalt for a smoother drive.
  • Sidewalk repairs: Ongoing work includes pressure cleaning and leveling to maintain safety and aesthetics along Mediterranean Blvd.
  • Green Light Project: In partnership with the Miami-Dade Police Department (soon to become the Sheriff’s Office), we’re installing additional security cameras and monitoring systems to enhance safety.

Despite delays, primarily from the county, we’re confident the pool will be ready for use by Christmas, bringing holiday cheer to our community.

Summary

The Moors Master Association continues to prioritize improvements for residents, from sustainability efforts to infrastructure upgrades. With a successful 2024 behind us, we’re ready to make 2025 an even better year for our community!

Wishing you a joyful and healthy holiday season. May the new year bring you happiness, prosperity, and continued connection with our wonderful community. Here’s to a fantastic 2025 together!
