Christmas tree recycling drop-off
Starting Tuesday, December 26, 2023, residents can recycle their clean, decoration-free Christmas trees by taking them to the nearest Miami-Dade Trash & Recycling Center. These trees will be chipped into mulch, to be made available to Miami-Dade residents in the Spring. Make a positive impact on our community and ecosystem by embracing Christmas tree recycling as a responsible post-holiday practice.

- 7870 NW 178th St, Palm Spring North, 33015
- Monday – Sunday: 7 am to 5:30 pm
Curbside Christmas tree collection
Residents who are unable to drop off their Christmas tree can place it at the curbside. Crews will collect Christmas trees from the curbside beginning Wednesday, January 10.
This year trees will be collected throughout the service area during two sweeps.
Do not place whole trees or cut up trees in the green garbage carts or blue recycling carts.
First Christmas collection sweep: January 10 – January 21
- Trees will be collected on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Place the tree at the curb by Wednesday, January 10.
Final Christmas tree collection sweep: January 24 – February 4
- Trees will be collected on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Place the tree at the curb by Wednesday, January 24.
Christmas tree disposal alternative
Can’t wait to drop off your tree or don’t want to wait for your area to be collected? You can use one of your two bulky waste pickups for the calendar year to have your tree removed. For more information on using the bulky appointment system visit miamidade.gov/bulkywaste or call 311.
